The Latino Population in Arizona has tripled since the 1990's and is becoming more important in local and national elections. Every four years, the so-called "sleeping giant" raises expectations of whether it will finally turn Arizona from a red to a blue state, and even though that hasn't happened, the fact is Arizona is turning more purple with each passing cycle. For many, the Latino vote has a lot to do with that because Latinos are more likely to vote Democratic than Republican and some believe the reason behind that is immigration.
